If it hasn’t happened to you yet, it will. Something during your renovation will go wrong, probably even pushing the lines of terribly wrong.
We have had our shares the past year. There was the time we ran out of flooring.
There was the time that a door fell on Ryan’s head.
Then, there was the day we got bad news from the bank. Whatever your situation, whatever type of project you are doing, SOMETHING WILL GO WRONG.
When it does go wrong, learn to laugh. Maybe not right as it is happening, and may not the next day, but the day after that, you should try to just laugh. Don’t take yourself or your project too seriously.
Just laugh. Laugh when you screw up. Laugh when life just doesn’t work out the way you planned. Getting upset won’t change anything, other than making you MORE upset. That is true for me at least. Once I get upset I turn into this lunatic, spinning-top, ball of mess, and I just work myself up into a bigger mess. It’s a terrible cycle that does not end well (tears and empty buckets of ice cream).
Be humble and laugh! Ask Ryan how he does it. He is the one who had a door fall on his head after all….
